David F. Whelan - Minneapolis FD

David F. Whelan, Firefighter, Ladder 4 - August 30, 1934

Whelan died when Engine 4 crashed at 12th and Lyndale Avenues North on a run to a fire at 620 Aldrich Avenue North. THe rig skidded on wet pavement as it turned a corner and crashed into a light pole. Whelan was thrown under its rear wheels and killed instantly.
