Henry Obinger - Minneapolis FD

Henry Obinger, Firefighter, Ladder 6 - November 5, 1947

Obinger died in action at a fire in the Happy Hour bar and cafe at 1523 Nicollet Avenue when a suspended ceiling collapsed on crews trying to reach flames above it. Obinger, pinned by debris behind the bar, could not be rescued for some time because of flames and smoke and died before firefighters reached him.
