Randy M. Hiti, 57 of Jensen Rd. died Wednesday February 18, 2015 suddenly doing what loved, while responding to a fire call. Randy was born in Virginia to Frank and Mildred "Millie" Hiti. He married the love of his life, Laura Blix on August 22, 1981. Randy loved working with his hands and fixing things. He opened his own automotive business out of a garage at his home. He had a heart of gold and wanted to help wherever he could. Randy was a 26 year member of the Rice Lake Volunteer Fire Department. It was a very rare occasion that you would not see him show up when the fire department was called out and he won Fire Fighter of the year several times. Randy taught fire prevention to the Homecroft 3rd graders for over 10 years.

Randy is survived by his wife, Laura; daughters, Anne (Fiancèe, Nicholas Truman) and Katherine Hiti; his mother, Millie of Virginia and his brothers, Brian (Cathy) and Leon (Anita). The family would like to thank the St. Louis Co. Sheriff Department, Rice Lake Fire Department, its neighboring fire departments, and Gold Cross for all that they did.

The visitation and funeral for Randy Hiti will take place on Tuesday February 24, 2015.

RANDY M. HITI

Randy M. Hiti, 57 of Jensen Rd. died suddenly on Wednesday Feb. 18, 2015 doing what he loved, while responding to a fire call.

He was born in Virginia to Frank and Mildred "Millie" Hiti.

He married the love of his life, Laura Blix on Aug. 22, 1981.

Randy loved working with his hands and fixing things. He opened his own automotive business out of a garage at his home. He had a heart of gold and wanted to help wherever he could.

Randy was a 26 year member of the Rice Lake Volunteer Fire Department. It was a very rare occasion that you would not see him show up when the fire department was called out and he won Fire Fighter of the year several times. He taught fire prevention to the Homecroft 3rd graders for over 10 years.

Randy volunteered his time in numerous areas including annual Rice Lake Halloween Carnival and Rice Lake Day. Randy was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Gnesen, was also 4th Degree Knight of Columbus and volunteered for many years for Grandma's Marathon. In addition to his volunteer service he would drop anything for a family member, friend in need, and anyone he could from driving hours to provide roadside assistance to providing help with daily tasks. Randy will be dearly missed by his family, firefighting family of 26 years and many other friends and family.

VISITATION: 10 a.m. Tuesday and continues to the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. John's Church, 3 W. Chisholm St. Duluth. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Superior. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral home, Duluth. (218) 727-3555.
